SECOND SECTION

DECISION

Application no. 14878/20
Ferhat BİNİCİ
against Türkiye

The European Court of Human Rights (Second Section), sitting on 19 February 2026 as a Committee composed of:

Stéphane Pisani, President,
Juha Lavapuro,
Hugh Mercer, judges,

and Viktoriya Maradudina, Acting Deputy Section Registrar,

Having regard to the above application against the Republic of Türkiye lodged with the Court under Article 34 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (“the Convention”) on 9 March 2020,

Having deliberated, decides as follows:

FACTS AND PROCEDURE

The applicant, Mr Ferhat Binici, is a professional wrestler born in 1988. He was represented by Ms G.G. Günal, a lawyer practising in Ankara.

On 3 July 2025 the applicant’s complaints under Articles 6, 8 and 13 of the Convention were communicated to the Turkish Government.

By a letter dated 18 November 2025, the applicant’s lawyer informed the Registry that the applicant wished to withdraw his application before the Court, as the matter had been resolved at the national level.

THE LAW

In the light of the foregoing, the Court concludes that the applicant may be regarded as no longer wishing to pursue the application (Article 37 § 1 (a) of the Convention). Furthermore, in accordance with Article 37 § 1 in fine, the Court finds no special circumstances regarding respect for human rights as defined in the Convention and the Protocols thereto which require the continued examination of the application.

Accordingly, the case should be struck out of the list.

For these reasons, the Court, unanimously,

Decides to strike the application out of its list of cases.

Done in English and notified in writing on 12 March 2026.
